Favorite products I’ve found through Glossybox

November 16, 2017

Hello friends!

Something you may not know is that I’m extremely new to beauty subscription boxes. While I haven’t permanently hopped on any bandwagon yet, I’ve gotten my hands on a few different boxes in October and November. I tried out Birchbox ($10), Glossybox ($21), and I’m waiting for an Ipsy ($10) bag to come in the mail.
Beauty subscription boxes are such an intriguing thing to me. I can’t quite decide if they’re worth the 10, 20 or 50 dollars, or if I should just head to Sephora and buy myself a full size item of whatever has caught my eye. The biggest upside (and absolute best part) of getting a beauty box in the mail is the element of surprise. It’s like a gift from yourself, to yourself – and you never know what you’ll find!

I’ve come across some pretty awful products in these boxes, but I’ve also been introduced to products that I never would have tried otherwise. Today I’ll be talking you through some of my new favorite finds in Glossybox, but if you’re interested in a blog post about “beauty box items I would never repurchase”, please let me know in the comments below.

As you can see, I have a good mix of different products laid out for you. While there are brands such as Kat Von D and Tarte that are extremely popular, I’m so happy to say that I’ve been introduced to some new brands – and they’re lovely.

First off it the Tarteist clear eyebrow gel by Tarte thatย was featured in November’s Glossybox.ย Tarte have always been such a head-scratcher for me. I love their blushes, and their mascaras, but I once bought an eyeshadow palette that was so chalky, which ultimately put me off the brand for a bit. I’m so happy that I received this eyebrow gel in the mail because it is absolutely INCREDIBLE. It’s light, it doesn’t make my brows crusty in any way, but it ensures that they stay in place all day. Tarte, I’m coming back to give you a second chance!

Next is the Laqa & Co. Cloud Lips in the shade day dream (November Glossybox). Oh my GOODNESS, the SHADE! It’s a beautiful mauvey pink that’s a bit dark and autumnal in the most wonderful ways you could imagine. It’s not as intense as wearing a berry lip, but it’s nice and comfy on the lips and gives you the sweetest dark roses color. This is definitely going into my daily make up bag!

I didn’t expect to fall in love with an eyeshadow brush that came out of a beauty subscription box. When I opened my October Glossybox I looked at the Vasanti brush and without much enthusiasm, I shoved it to the side. Fast forward to a few days later, and I have to say this brush packs eyeshadow on the eyelid extremely well. As you can see, I left some product on the brush just to show you how well it holds onto it. Beautiful!

Kat Von D has been a staple in my make up bag, especially when it comes to her contour palette. I’ve raved about that palette so much in the past, that I’m sure you’re familiar with it by now. I was excited to receive a little perfume sample in my November glossy box of her perfume “Sinner”. Sinner is a strong floral fragrance, and definitely a night time perfume. It’s sophisticated, yet fun. I usually like very fresh scents, but this definitely appealed to me at first sniff. Plus, Dylan really likes it, so that’s a good thing!

Last, but by no means least is Lue by Jean Seo, an “erase paste”, also described as a cleansing, exfoliating, and brightening powder. You mix a teaspoon of this powder with a little bit of water in your hand and apply it to your face in the form of a face mask. The first time I used this I scrubbed way too hard and then proceeded to freak out because my skin was so red. The second time I used it, I concentrated it on my nose and was a bit more gentle when it came to taking it off. I now love this mask / powder. It strangely smells of oatmeal or raw dough, but if you don’t mind getting a bit messy and having nice smooth skin after, I wholeheartedly recommend this erase paste!

Are there any other beauty subscription boxes you would recommend to me? I would love to hear from you!
